EPA declares water safe in fracking dispute

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has closed an investigation into allegations that a Pennsylvania community’s water wells were contaminated by hydraulic fracturing — fracking — for natural gas. The EPA said tests on water samples from 64 homes in Dimock, Penn., found the water is safe to drink.
